Successful, energy saving RTO/RCO installations with substantial process CO2 reductions
Since early 2010, RTOs have been used in the wood pellet industry to control air emissions from the dryer and/or hammer mill and pellet mill exhaust.
NESTEC has installed twelve complete air emission control systems RTOs, RCOs, and WESPs, including the process exhaust collection and control systems for the wood pellet industry. NESTEC systems were installed for energy conservation and control on the rotary wood chip dryer exhaust and/or hammermill and cooler processes in MS, LA, GA, TX, and NC.
NESTEC’s APC installation at a Wood Pellet facility reduced the potential CO2 by 1,500 lbs per hour or 6,000 tons per year, in addition to reducing the operating costs with a savings of $600,000 per year.
A typical NESTEC total process duct collection system and RCO arrangement is shown below. The process exhaust is controlled through two parallel NESTEC MCC RCO units with a single exhaust stack.
